Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to contribute to enterprise-wide digital transformation. This role supports the OIX program -- a platform providing secure messaging and cross-domain solution (CDS) products across federal agencies and foreign partners. Full-time on-site.
What You'll Get To Do
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems
- Develop software using modern programming languages to modernize and productionize US Government systems
- Implement modular, scalable, and reliable software architectures
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware engineers
- Develop software infrastructure to support CI/CD, software metrics, and MLOps
- Support customers on-site through installations, upgrades, and maintenance
- Work closely with Software Leads and Architects to understand system capabilities and output requirements
Basic Qualifications
- BS in STEM + 5 years OR MS + 3 years OR PhD + 1 year of relevant experience
- Active Top Secret security clearance (enrolled in Continuous Evaluation)
- Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JSP, web development, test automation, data storage, Windows Server, Linux
- Familiarity with modern C++ standards (C++ 17+)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based configuration management
- US Citizenship required; full-time on-site availability required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containers
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps lifecycle
Salary Range: $114,000-$171,000/year
