Northridge West Council Pursues Driver for Topiary Damage

The Northridge West Neighborhood Council voted 8-0 on June 9, 2026, to create a committee to pursue more than $5,000 in public funds and possible prosecution against a driver who destroyed two horse topiaries and the Tampa median, according to the June 2026 meeting minutes.

The driver has been arrested, board President Janis Kraft said.

The committee will work with the City Attorney, CD12, and the Los Angeles Police Department.

Board members Janis Kraft, Kathleen Edwards, and Jeff Diamond will serve on the committee.

The committee is made up of members from the Northridge West Beautification and Public Safety committees.

Pat Lopresti told the meeting that more than 250 families attended the Northridge West Meet the Horses event last month.
